Yin and Restorative Yoga on Zoom (taken from the comfort of your own home, you can have camera on or off.) You will come away from a session like this feeling absolutely restored, from a physical level to a mental or energetic level this style of practise really effects us in a holistic way. The practise is truly about cultivating a state of deep relaxation and relieving the body of stresses and tensions. Stresses and tensions we may be holding consciously or unconsciously and let's face it almost everyone of us could benefit from a session like that.
In Yin and Restorative Yoga most of the postures are taken either seated or laying down, you can get cosy with lots of layers, blankets, chunky socks. We use lots of props - cushions, blocks etc (if you don’t have access to props at home it doesn’t matter but maybe nicking some sofa cushions could help!) It’s all about holding postures for a longer period of time, working with relaxation and meditative techniques, often the breathing, to feel ourselves drop into a state of deep relaxation which sometimes ends up feeling bit dream like in quality. This kind of practise really is deeply deeply healing and therapeutic. Less stress and tension in the body, deeper sleep, improved mobility and an overall sense that our wellbeing has been restored.

This is a Vinyasa Flow class which incorporates a little bit of everything. Movement, Breathwork, Mindfulness. Fluid transition between postures, both standing and seated, finding grace, softness and ease in the body. We combine these elements with the building of strength, the creation of heat and the feeling of power within the body. It is my belief that Vinyasa flow is the ability to move between these two seemingly opposite states and find how they can effortlessly blend. With it being a morning class I try to dial back the intensity a little bit so that it is a really lovely chilled start to the morning.
All welcome at this class, modifications will be made to suit all levels. Any questions don’t hesitate to get in touch with me.

Each week we cherry pick different parts of the Ashtanga Primary Series to cover so that over time you can get an overview of the whole thing. Building gradually on your knowledge and experience of the postures, deepening your understanding of this traditional practice. This class is open to all levels and whilst ashtanga can be seen as a very strong practice (which yes can be true) in this class I like to have a bit of fun with it, we do lots of breaking down and explaining of postures. Meaning that in time you can build up stamina, strength and confidence, growing to love the practice that is Ashtanga Vinyasa.

This class is designed for people completely new to Yoga or for people who perhaps want to refresh their confidence after having been away from Yoga for a while. We will incorporate different styles of practice like slow and restorative flows, as well as Yin which is a very still and contemplative practise. Alongside perhaps a more analytical approach looking at specific key components of Yoga like sun salutations or particular postures which you are likely to come across in open classes.
This class runs for 4 - 6 week blocks and has to be booked through The Modern Yoga website www.themodernyoga.co.uk although if you do have any questions about the course please feel free to direct those to me.
Wednesday

This is an All levels Vinyasa Flow class which is slightly slower paced than the Vinyasa flow at 6pm. A great one if you fancy something a bit more chilled and relaxing. We still incorporate a little bit of everything movement, breathwork, meditation. Synchronising movement with our breathing, practising elements of mindfulness, centring ourselves deep within the body. Expect fluid transitions between postures, both standing and seated using repetition to lull ourselves into a deep state of relaxation within our flow.

Thursday

Full primary series - This class is relatively fast paced, we move through the postures of the Ashtanga primary series although I do try to slow down and talk through some of the more advanced postures within the series. You don't have to feel like an 'expert' by any means.
I try to teach this class in a fairly traditional way, nice steady count and queueing the postures using some of the Sanskrit names, I use hands on adjustments (if they are wanted / needed) to help support your practise in that traditional format but I also really encourage the use of modification and props to help you find a version of the practise which really suits your body.
This is not necessarily a class for a total beginner but anyone who is vaguely familiar with most of the postures from the series and starting to build up their practice is very welcome. Perhaps you've taken a break from the practise and are looking to return to it again, in that case you are very welcome!

Class Passes
Save time booking a single class each week by purchasing a 5 class pass or a 10 class pass both with a small saving compared with full price single classes. You can purchase these passes for 90 minute classes and for 1 hour classes but you are still welcome to mix and match these styles of classes on one pass. once you have your pass all you need to do is email, text or call me and let me know which classes you want to join and I will get you the relevant zoom links sent over where applicable. Other Ways to Work with Me
ONE TO ONE…

A one to one session is an amazing way to work with me in a way that specifically suits your needs but it is best to contact me via the contact page to discuss availability before booking.
These sessions will be very much tailored to your requirements, this is why I request people to contact me before they book, so that we can chat about what they would like to get out of the session and make sure that I will be the right person for them!
All welcome to book these sessions, no need for prior yoga experience.
Wether you are an absolute beginner, never done a single class before and are looking to learn the basics or perhaps you are somewhat familiar with yoga but you have a particular condition or injury that makes you wary of joining an open group class. One of the styles of class that I really specialise in is restorative yoga which can be really healing and therapeutic for the body, mind and energy system. For anyone experiencing chronic stress, burn out, sleeplessness etc this can be a really beautiful option.
There is also the possibility that you practise often and simply want to deepen your knowledge, this could be from an Asana (postures) perspective - you want to learn a certain pose - or it could be from a more philosophical perspective - you might want to delve into the areas not usually covered in open group classes.
Really the sky is the limit here whatever you want to get from it we can figure it out.

There is also the option for them to be pre-recorded and sent to you to do at your leisure and also to keep for future use.

This style of 121 session is based upon getting you to the deepest state of relaxation possible. Using multiple techniques ranging from body movement (an extremely restorative type of yoga), breathing exercises (very subtle and gentle), guided visualisation and meditation techniques (Yoga Nidra / NSDR), to the use of sound (binaural beats and other atmospheric resonant types of music) I will guide you to a place of deep relaxation and nervous system reset. Letting you rest there for a while before guiding you back. This type of practise is tremendously healing, wether you have a very busy stressful job or home life, conditions that make pain management necessary, difficulty winding down or trouble sleeping. You may well find relief in this type of session.
These sessions will be completely tailored to you.
These sessions can be In person or Online, again just suiting your needs.
These sessions are 90 minutes long to accommodate for the relaxation time at the end.

SMALL PRIVATE…

Yoga for small groups, hosted privately with the particular group in mind. This is very much like having a 121 in that the session can be held at your groups convenience and the content of that session can be tailored to your groups requirements. Any level from total beginners to more advanced can be accommodated for.
Maybe you want a purely relaxing session, Maybe you want to learn particular yoga poses or breath work techniques? Maybe you play or take part in a particular sport and would like the session tailored to the needs that stem from practising that sport? Any and all requirements can be taken into consideration when planning the session.
The session can be hosted from my space which is in Tynemouth or can be organised in a space of your choosing (as long as that space is of adequate size and you have access to the necessary equipment.)
2 participants is £88
3 - 8 participants 1 hour is £111
3 - 8 Participants for 2 hours is £222 (2 hours is perfect for Private Retreat Nights)

To take some time out of the day to improve posture, to improve the quality of the breathing, to de-stress and to relax. effectively finding a way to charge up the potentially depleted energy levels that so many of us are experiencing day to day.
These Corporate sessions are tailored to suit the requirements of the business and the staff. In terms of the style of Yoga, the length of sessions and of course the time of day / day of week. Sessions can be held at your workplace (The company or the participants will need to provide their own mats) or they can be held online via zoom.
